The Hunters of Black Friday
A four-part choral tribute to the heros who keep the Black Friday tradition alive, "The Hunters of Black Friday" dubuted on November 6, 2011 with piano and clarinet accompaniment.
Lyrics:
Through dark of night,
November winds,
They wait the fight
That soon begins:
The Hunters of Black Friday.
Within their camp
With steely eyes,
Through cold and damp
They seek the prize:
The Hunters of Black Friday.
They’ll arise before the day
And they’ll pack their tents away,
Stand against the door of the store
For when the struggle has begun.
With the floor plans and the maps,
Clinging to the newspaper ads
They’ll know where to go
When it’s time to run
They’ll know where to run.
Through dark of night,
November winds,
They wait the fight
That soon begins:
The Hunters of Black Friday.
Within their camp
With steely eyes,
Through cold and damp
They seek the prize:
The Hunters of Black Friday.
Mom is camping outside Target,
Dad is camping outside Lowes,
Grandma’s tent’s on the cement
Or Penneys as the cold wind blows.
Brother’s camping out at Best Buy,
Sister’s staked her tent at Sears,
Getting energy from coffee
And Three Musketeers.
Through dark of night,
November winds,
They wait the fight
That soon begins:
The Hunters of Black Friday.
Within their camp
With steely eyes,
Through cold and damp
They seek the prize:
The Hunters of Black Friday.
