Your Love Is Everywhere I Go
Some years ago, I heard a song on the radio in which the singer took great comfort in the fact that her boyfriend's love was with her everywhere she went. It sounded more terrifying than comforting to me, so I composed this slightly panicked-sounding song for 4-part choir with piano accompaniment. The Dan Meyer Choir has been rocking it out on since early 2011.
Lyrics:
We say goodbye,
We go our separate ways;
I round the bend,
It hits me in the face:
Your love is everywhere I go,
Everywhere I go it is there
Everywhere I go, your love.
Others may flirt
But I can’t even see
Although I squint;
Your love has blinded me!
Your love is everywhere I go,
Everywhere I go it is there
Everywhere I go, your love.
In the store, in the car,
On the job, there you are.
Everywhere!
Down below, up above,
I’m walled in by your love.
Everywhere!
Your love is everywhere I go,
Everywhere I go it is there
Everywhere I go,
Your love is everywhere I go,
Everywhere I go it is there
Everywhere I go, your love,
Your love, your love.
