Tell That to the President

Calvin Coolidge was America's 30th President and also has the distinction of having a psychological phenomenon named after him: The Coolidge Effect. This choral anthem explains how that happened.

Lyrics:

President Calvin Coolidge and his wife
Took separate tours while visiting a farm.
When Mrs. Coolidge passed the chicken pens
She asked the guide standing at her arm,

"Is just one rooster sufficient
With so many hens in the yard?"
"Oh yes," the fellow replied,
"For that rooster works very hard."
"Really?" she asked, "Very hard every day?"
"Oh yes, dozens of times," she heard the guide say.
"Interesting," she replied,
And then she instructed her guide:

"Tell that to the President, Tell that to the President.
Tell that to the President, Tell that to the President."

She went her way, but soon after
Mr. Coolidge came passing by.
He was informed what his wife said
Of that busy rooster inside.
"Really?" he asked, "The same hen time and again?"
"Oh no," the guide said, "each time a different hen."
"Interesting," he replied,
And then he instructed his guide:

"Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge, Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge.
Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge, Tell that to Mrs. Coolidge."
