Friday Night Dilemma

"Friday Night Dilemma" is the closest I've come to writing an autobiographical song. This 4-part, languorous choral anthem evokes the feeling of a lazy, poorly planned Friday evening.

Lyrics:

No obligations, no chores and no plans,
An evening before us with no demands.
The weather is perfect, it’s cool and not stormy.
We don’t have to wake up for work in the morning.

I’ve got no work this weekend, I just mowed the grass.
The car is tuned up, cleaned up and filled up with gas.
I’m perfectly healthy, I’m not even tired.
I’ve got plenty of cash, my passport isn’t expired.

Wudda you wanna do?
I dunno, wudda you wanna do?

We could go to a movie.
There’s nothing good showing.
We could go out to eat.
Nah, I don’t feel like going.
We could watch some TV.
But there’s nothing good on.
Maybe go to a ballgame.
The team’s out of town.

Wudda you wanna do?
I dunno, wudda you wanna do?

I hate board games.
I hate cards.
We had croquet but we gave it away
So we can’t go and play in the yard.

Wudda you wanna do?
I dunno, wudda you wanna do?
