Daylight Savings Time

The final concert of 2011 for The Dan Meyer Choir happened to fall on the first day after Daylight Savings Time ended. With that in mind, we performed this bitter-sweet four-part a cappella song, "Daylight Savings Time".

Lyrics:

Once we had daylight,
Mother Nature gave it;
O how we loved it,
We tried to save it.
That struggle is over now;
The cause, it is lost,
Let’s throw in the towel.
It was a vain attempt,
A pathetic try.
What were we thinking:
Daylight Savings Time?

Grab your white flag now
And humbly wave it;
No point in crying.
Despite all our trying
Daylight is dying.
We couldn’t save it.
