Rog, Betty and Tarzan

Gordon Scott was born in Oregon in 1926 and played Tarzan in five feature films. After his movie career ended, he surprised his fan Roger in Baltimore by coming to visit him and his wife Betty and staying at their house for the rest of his life.

Lyrics:

Tarzan, Tarzan, come down from your vine.
You’re no spring chicken, don’t you think it’s time?
Track down your fans; show up at the door
Of Rog and Betty in Baltimore.

Tarzan, Tarzan, say goodbye to Jane.
Young girls who fainted no longer go insane.
TV, Natty Boh are what lie in store
As Rog and Betty’s guest in Baltimore.

Tarzan, Tarzan, invited to stay,
But no one knew you would not go away.
You swung into town and never said goodbye
‘Til you swung off to that jungle in the sky.
